Winds Over Limerick

“Winds Over Limerick is inspired by Irish music, and is written for violin, oboe and bassoon.  This is my second time writing for Opus and, though the process has been a bit easier this time around, it has still been quite challenging and fun. Working on harmonies has been a goal of mine, and composing this piece has been an amazing learning experience.
This piece starts with a short introduction played by the violin and bassoon.  The oboe comes in with the first theme, then the violin brings in the second, as the other instruments repeat and harmonize.  The parts trade on and off, bring the original theme back, and eventually fit together to complete the piece.
I would like to thank my mentor, Travis Ramsey, for all of his help and positivity.  It has been a huge help.”
