String Quartet in D Minor

Adele Woodmansee

“I began writing the Quartet in D Minor with the idea that it might become a fugue, but I moved away from that idea a little bit as the piece moved forward. I did a significant amount of work on this piece off the computer since I spent a month in Mexico shortly before the deadline. The piece begins with a theme that is repeated several times and then moves into a section with quick repetitions and a sharp texture.”
