Opus 23 Brass Quintet

Jacob Morton-Black
Grade 11, Colchester High School

“This piece begins in a classic renaissance style. Moving on, it begins to become more complicated, changing key, and introducing faster rhythms. At the pinnacle of the piece, the key changes, and the theme feels more minor, yet still retaining a certain major aspect. The piece ends by returning to the beginning theme, and ending with a satisfying chordal section.”
